~♢~ A cavernous kingdom made entirely in Mount Opel and in a network of cave systems underground the land surrounding the stronghold. Several cities exist in this hollowed out mountain range, and reach deep into the crust of Amordia, well into the Underdark. The mining of precious metals, stones, and gems supplies most of Opelia’s commerce. However, It is also a popular place for explorers, as many of the cave systems are uninhabited, unexplored, and thanks to legend, promise ruins of ancient artifacts. Archaeologists, botanists, biologists, arcan-ologists and a whole host of other scientific groups aim to get a glimpse at the alien ecosystems of the Underdark. And so, many of them make their home in Opelia. Opelia has always been a hollowed out mountain, it’s been that way as long as the ancestors of Opelia could remember. Though this kingdom is landlocked, there is talk that one prominent explorer has reached cave systems that go well under the sea floor, and that they have uncovered well preserved artifacts of an ancient civilization. In worldly affairs, Opelia is concerned with themselves only, often putting most of their resources into building defenses. ~♢~
